AIA, LEED BD+C, CPHC

David’s thirty years of architectural experience includes large commercial projects, midsize institutional facilities, high-rise multifamily residences, and carefully crafted single-family homes. His belief in architecture as integrative, multidisciplinary, and collaborative shapes how he approaches design and practice, leading to return projects from clients, trusted relationships with consultants, and respected mentoring experiences in the studio. Projects completed under his direction, totaling millions of square feet, demonstrate a commitment to design excellence, material craftsmanship, integration of high-performance building technologies, and sustainable practices.

At Sage and Coombe Architects, he has led the teams overseeing the first phase of Mulberry Commons, a transformative new 4-acre urban green space in downtown Newark that will include a pedestrian bridge connecting the downtown to the Ironbound neighborhoods and Newark Penn Station. Currently, he is overseeing the expansion of the Brooklyn Heights Synagogue and the design of North Waterfront Park, an outdoor theater for Live Nation and the City of Wilmington, North Carolina.

Prior to joining Sage and Coombe, David was a Principal at ZGF Architects and an Associate Partner at Pelli Clarke Pelli in New York. He holds a BA from Bennington College and a Masters in Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania. David is licensed in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.
